Today is the 1st birthday of the daughter of one of my husband's co-workers. He and his wife asked me almost a year ago to do their daughter's first birthday cake! Her mom wanted a small giraffe cake, it is only 6" round, for Brynnlee to have all to herself. The cake has a giraffe skin pattern with a pink ruffle & bow at the bottom.
By request it was all done in buttercream frosting. Some things (like ruffles and bows) are really better done in fondant though!

So cute! Way to make the buttercream work. I'm sure it is quite a bit more difficult than fondant, but you did so well.
