Elephant Baby Shower cookies

A sweet neighbor asked me to make cookies for her baby shower this coming Saturday. She asked for elephant cookies, similar to these she had seen online. I had five or six cutters she could choose from, and she chose a slightly different elephant shape. I made a few changes to the sample cookie she liked, and she loved how they turned out.

Happy baby shower Aubrey!

Poky Little Puppy Cake

I love doing cakes! I have been getting a lot of orders from word-of-mouth advertising. A big THANK YOU to all of you who recommend my services!
This is the latest cake - another first birthday cake. The theme was The Poky Little Puppy book. I had the book growing up, and bought a new copy for reference that I will give to my boys now that the cake is done. It was a chocolate/white marble cake with Bavarian cream filling, finished with buttercream with fondant and royal icing accents.

Happy Birthday Larric!

Westie on a Cheetah Print Pillow cake

A couple weeks back my hairdresser, Kim, traded me a haircut for a birthday cake for his partner. I am always happy to barter, so I happily agreed to do the cake. He requested a cheetah print pillow with a Westie on top. They have a Westie puppy named Ella, so the collar on the iced doggie read "Ella."
This is Ella:

This is the icing version of Ella:

Giraffe 1st birthday cake

Today is the 1st birthday of the daughter of one of my husband's co-workers. He and his wife asked me almost a year ago to do their daughter's first birthday cake! Her mom wanted a small giraffe cake, it is only 6" round, for Brynnlee to have all to herself. The cake has a giraffe skin pattern with a pink ruffle & bow at the bottom.
The cake is vanilla cake with vanilla filling. The finish is buttercream frosting with a toy giraffe on top.

By request it was all done in buttercream frosting. Some things (like ruffles and bows) are really better done in fondant though!
Happy 1st Birthday Brynnlee!

Jungle Animal Cookies & Panda Cake

Our downstairs neighbors have the most darling little girl. She turned one a couple of weeks ago and I got to make the cookies and cake for her birthday bash!
These are the cookies, made to match the party decor:

This is her cake:

They love pandas. I loved being able to use my new pillow cake pans and the 3D teddy bear pan I was given almost a year ago! The panda bear was chocolate cake with a buttercream finish. The pillow was chocolate/vanilla marble cake with buttercream filling and a fondant finish.

Happy Birthday Kaia!

Jungle Animals

I have a big order coming up at the end of July which includes 3 dozen jungle animal cookies. I figured I'd better try some out before then.

These need some tweaking also, but they're a good start.

Pug Cookie

Tomorrow is the birthday of my Aunt Mary. She is such a nice lady I wanted to do something special for her. She and her husband gave us our second pug, Sascha, and Mary really loves the breed. So, I made her this cookie:

It is pretty big - probably about 8 inches square. It is a royal icing transfer, but next time I think I'll do it in chocolate. I got the image from here.

Soccer Balls & Panda Bears

I had 3 orders this week. The first was 2 dozen large butterflies with custom colors. I forgot to take a photo, but I'm hoping the recipient send me one. My second order was for two dozen stegosaurus cookies, the same design as last week's dinos. There is something special about dinosaur parties for 3-year old boys. My middle son had a dinosaur party when he turned three also.
The third order was from my niece. Her little girl is having a soccer-themed birthday party, so she ordered a dozen soccer ball cookies.
Those little guys are hard to freehand. It makes me wish I had a Kopykake projector!

I had some leftover circle cookies after completing the soccer balls, so I made a few panda bear cookies for our downstairs neighbors. They just had a beautiful baby girl a couple of weeks ago & they love pandas.
I think these would be great party favor cookies. There is room for some script on the bottom - maybe "Happy Birthday" or someones name? What do you think?

Dolphin Cookies

I have a cousin who loves dolphins. I told him I would make him cookies for his birthday, so of course I had to make him dolphins.

He absolutely loved the cookies! Happy Birthday Dru!

Baby Boy Onesies and Tropical Fish

I made these baby onesie cookies for a repeat client this past week:
They were for a baby shower & matched the crib bedding of the baby. They were chocolate sugar cookies and were tied with blue & brown ribbon.

My mom asked me to make some cookies for a meeting she is going to today and I came up with these little guys:
Aren't they fun? As always, colors are customizable.

Little Birds Cake

I made this cake for a friend's baby shower.

If it looks lopsided that is because it is. My four year old decided to attack the cake layers with his dragon as they were cooling on the counter and took a big chunk out of the edge of one of them, and put numerous holes in the other. See?

I tried to fix it, but icing can only do so much. It still tasted good though! Hopefully Jack learned his lesson.
