Fuschia & Teal Wedding Cake

My nephew, Spencer, was married a week ago. His cute bride asked me to do their cake. She wanted something a little different, and loved the idea of a non-white wedding cake. They loved their cake, and so did I.

The bottom tier was strawberry cake with strawberry filling and the top tier was lemon cake with lemon filling.  The middle two were false. It was finished with buttercream icing and fondant flowers.

Congratulations Spencer and Stephanie!

"Girly" Elmo cake

Our former renter who had me do her little girl's first birthday cake last year had me do her second birthday cake this year! Mommy wanted a "girly" cake, Kaia wanted an Elmo cake. SO, we compromised - a "girly" Elmo cake.

The cake is a marble cake with Bavarian cream filling. It is finished in fondant, including the Elmo figure, with royal icing flowers.
Happy Birthday Kaia!

Phineas & Ferb cake

My oldest turned eight a week ago. His favorite TV show is Phineas & Ferb, so I threw him a P&F party two weeks ago and made him a P&F cake for last weekend. He loved it!

Chocolate cake with buttercream filling. The topper is a toy.
Happy Birthday Dan!

More Cupcakes

I have had a few occasions that required cupcakes in the past month. First was my birthday. I refuse to make my own cake, but I did make Rolo cupcakes, and planned a potluck BBQ with family to celebrate. These were the cupcakes:
Believe you me, they were tasty.

Second, was my aunt's fourth of July/20th Anniversary party. I made 4 dozen cupcakes (and a red velvet cake) for the occasion. Half of the cupcakes were cookies and cream, and half were orange creamsicle:
They were all gone before I got one.

Lastly, was my son's birthday party this past weekend. It was a "Phineas and Ferb"-themed party, so I made Perry the Platypus cupcakes.

They were a hit!

Super Heroes

Because both my Dad and my Father-in-Law are "Super", I made them super hero cookies for Father's Day. They both thought they were great! It's a good thing... I didn't start them until around 3pm on Saturday afternoon and was up until 1am finishing them! They aren't perfect, but as long as the Dads liked them, we're good!

Gourmet Cupcakes

I am branching out into the world of gourmet cupcakes. I have listed available flavors on my Cupcake Flavors page on the left hand side. They will be priced starting at $15 a dozen.
I made some super yummy orange creamsicle cupcakes for a party on Memorial Day, but I failed to get a photo of them. Trust me, they were GOOD.
There is a neighborhood GNO tonight here in my neck of the woods. It is a talent show. So for my talent, I'm bringing cupcakes. Tonight's flavors are:
Cookies & Cream

and Almond Joy.

Hope I made enough!

Tiki Cookies

I have been doing so many cakes lately, I felt like I needed a cookie fix. So, I decided to make some fun new summer cookies. The first batch are these Tiki statues. Aren't they fun?

I used the "Kona Coast" digital scrapbook kit by Julie Billingsley as inspiration.
