Elephant Baby Shower cookies

A sweet neighbor asked me to make cookies for her baby shower this coming Saturday. She asked for elephant cookies, similar to these she had seen online. I had five or six cutters she could choose from, and she chose a slightly different elephant shape. I made a few changes to the sample cookie she liked, and she loved how they turned out.

Happy baby shower Aubrey!

Valentine's Day 2012

I have been busy around here making Valentine's Day treats!
First, I had an order from a friend for two dozen lacy heart cookies. I ended up having 9 different patterns, each in two color combinations. I used the recent tutorial from Sugarbelle on piping lace onto cookies.

Next, I made robot cookie hearts for my boy's school classes. Again, I used Sugarbelle for the idea. I just love her! The boys were very pleased with their cookies.

And last, but not least, my boys and I made bug Valentines for their classes too. Totally not edible though! The printable for the jars can be found here.

Hello Kitty Skeleton Cookies

This is my last batch of Halloween cookies - really! I had leftover cookie dough & leftover icing sitting in my fridge just calling to me. And, I had a brand spankin' new set of Hello Kitty cutters just begging to be used. I saw some fun HK Halloween cookies floating around the web, so I thought I'd give them a shot. This is my take on Hello Kitty Skeleton cookies.

Batman Cookies

I love return customers. I am always happy to do custom orders for them (or for anyone!). I love knowing that people enjoy my baked goods. It makes me happy. I recently got an email from a woman who I had made Buzz Lightyear cookies for last year. She wanted Batman cookies for her son's birthday this year. I happily obliged, we settled on the Batman logo, and here we are! I shipped out two dozen of these babies this morning!

Thanks Erin and Happy Birthday to your little superhero!

Baby Girl Onesies

A friend in my neighborhood is having two parties this weekend. Brave woman! She ordered baby onesie cookies for the baby shower she is hosting tomorrow. Her only request was for chocolate cookies, with a color scheme to match the invitations. I vaguely remember her saying something about liking polka dots too. I forgot to photograph them before wrapping them all up, so please forgive the plastic coverings.

Valentine's Cookies

I have been wanting to make more holiday themed cookies, so I figured I'd better make some Valentine's Day ones before February got here & before my booked schedule really kicks in. I haven't made chocolate cut out cookies in a while, and I love the brown-red-white combo, so I went with chocolate heart cookies.
(I can't take credit for the lacy design on two of the hearts - I borrowed it from SugarBelle, who is one of my decorating idols. Really, go check out her stuff! )

Happy (early) Valentine's Day!

An Army...

My husband's National Guard unit is having their Christmas party tonight. He told me yesterday afternoon that we were supposed to bring a plate of something. So, I made up a batch of these mini gingerbread men. An "army" of them, if you will...

All dressed up in their holiday best!

Gingerbread Cookies

My husband loves gingersnaps, and gingerbread cookies. They are his favorites. He likes them crunchy so he can dip them into milk. I made the first batch of gingerbread cookies of the season yesterday. I think they are half gone already! My boys helped cut out the shapes. I think we'll have to make more before the week is out!

Baby Boy Carriage Cookies

I had an order a week or two ago for blue baby carriage cookies for a baby shower.

They were a hit and my client sent me this photo of the cookies center stage at the treat table!
Welcome baby Samuel!

Baby Girl Cookies

My good friend Betsy ordered some cookies for a baby shower that was planned for today. I finished them up yesterday morning and received a call from her later that morning. Her sister-in-law, whom the shower was for, went in to labor the night before. We had a good laugh about it, and decided that she could freeze the cookies and bring them to the baby's blessing instead. I am sure the mama isn't complaining - I loved when my baby came 3 weeks early!

Baby onesies can be ordered here, and baby buggies here.

Soccer Balls & Panda Bears

I had 3 orders this week. The first was 2 dozen large butterflies with custom colors. I forgot to take a photo, but I'm hoping the recipient send me one. My second order was for two dozen stegosaurus cookies, the same design as last week's dinos. There is something special about dinosaur parties for 3-year old boys. My middle son had a dinosaur party when he turned three also.
The third order was from my niece. Her little girl is having a soccer-themed birthday party, so she ordered a dozen soccer ball cookies.
Those little guys are hard to freehand. It makes me wish I had a Kopykake projector!

I had some leftover circle cookies after completing the soccer balls, so I made a few panda bear cookies for our downstairs neighbors. They just had a beautiful baby girl a couple of weeks ago & they love pandas.
I think these would be great party favor cookies. There is room for some script on the bottom - maybe "Happy Birthday" or someones name? What do you think?

Dolphin Cookies

I have a cousin who loves dolphins. I told him I would make him cookies for his birthday, so of course I had to make him dolphins.

He absolutely loved the cookies! Happy Birthday Dru!

Baby Boy Onesies and Tropical Fish

I made these baby onesie cookies for a repeat client this past week:
They were for a baby shower & matched the crib bedding of the baby. They were chocolate sugar cookies and were tied with blue & brown ribbon.

My mom asked me to make some cookies for a meeting she is going to today and I came up with these little guys:
Aren't they fun? As always, colors are customizable.

Doctor Cookies

We took a little trip over Memorial Day weekend to visit my brother-in-law and his family. It seems as though a family vacation isn't complete until someone splits his head open. This time it was my 4-year old, Jak-Jak. Luckily, my brother-in-law lives in a neighborhood with a few doctors, so one was kind enough to come over and glue Jak-Jak's head back together so we didn't have to go to the ER and get stitches. I made him these cookies as a "thank you."

You'll notice they are cookie pops. I am now offering cookie pops! I can put sticks onto almost any cookie. So if you want your cookies on sticks, just let me know.

Bridal Shower Cookies

This week was supposed to be super busy, and it was until I was sidelined Tuesday night and ended up spending the night, & most of the next day, in the hospital. So, I had to cancel a couple of jobs (very, very sorry & bummed about that!). Hopefully they will forgive me and give me another chance some other time.
I am still hosting my cousin's bridal shower this weekend, so I am busy making cookies and finger foods for that. These are the cookies I made for her.

They are made to match the design on her wedding invitations. They will be packaged up in sets of two, and given to the shower guests as little thank-you  favors for coming.
I did get two orders done before my hospitalization. A dozen cupcake cookies (made to match the birthday invitation) and 30 stegosaurus cookies. Hooray for cookies!

My next project: My first wedding cake! EEP!

Awareness Ribbon Cookies - Breast Cancer

A good friend of mine passed away from breast cancer a little less than a year ago. The Susan G. Komen "Race for the Cure" was held in my city this past weekend and it made me think of Jen. One of these years I will participate in the race, but this year I just made cookies instead.
As always, the colors and text are customizable.

Baby Onesie Cookies

We are attending a baby blessing this Sunday and I was asked to bring a dessert to the luncheon after. I decided on cookies, and tried out a new chocolate sugar cookie recipe. I also had a new cookie cutter than I have been waiting to use - a baby onesie.

These cookies are pink, but can be iced in any color. The words are customizable too (because every baby girl isn't named Tarynn).

Baseball Cookies

Tonight is the first game of the season of my boys' t-ball team. My awesome hubby is their coach, so, being the coach's wife, I made cookies for the team. They are, of course, baseball cookies. My boys saw them and are now counting down the minutes until it's time for the game.
